Most groceries, supermarkets prefer this type of configuration.

All-In-One (AIO) Configuration

Your cash register equipment comes as a solid single unit. The processor, cashier display, customer display and keyboard (which actually is a touchscreen cashier display) are all combined in a single physical unit. This configuration is mostly preferred by non-food retailers, but, currently, it is the most preferred configuration layout for all types of retailers.

Two Station

Two station printers commonly have a 80 mm thermal roll printing station and a dot-matrix printing station for flexible operations. Thermal roll printing is convenient for most operations. 40 column text printing is possible as well as limited graphics, barcode and QR code printing; depending on the printer model.

Dot matrix station is commonly used for multi-copy printing of documents like invoices, waybills etc.

Communication options include standard serial and serial emulation on USB.

For fiscal printing operations, a physically different printer is used; which combines the fiscal unit and the printer itself. Communicating with these printers are available thru a secure channel and special command set.
